64 countries still criminalise homosexuality
There are 64 countries that have laws that criminalise homosexuality, and nearly half of these are in Africa. However, in some countries there have been moves to decriminalise same-sex unions.
The countries with gender-neutral passports
"The U.S. issued its first passport with an "X" gender designation on Wednesday [27 October 2021] —but it's far from the first country to recognise citizens who don't identify as either male or female."
2021 England and Wales census questions include sexual orientation and gender identity
"The 2021 census is making history by asking the public about their gender identity and sexual orientation...although the census as a whole is mandatory, some questions on the form are voluntary, including questions on gender identity and sexual orientation."
