WestJet Travel Advisory: Flexible options for your upcoming travel

WestJet has issued a Travel Advisory covering all airports for travel between July 30 and August 4, 2026. If you have flights booked on or before July 24, 2026 that fall within this window, WestJet is offering you the flexibility to make a one-time change or cancellation at no charge, should your plans need to shift. 

This advisory applies to WestJet mainline flights. WestJet Encore flights and codeshare flights are not affected.

Here is a break down of what is available to you: 

 

Flight changes 
  • One-time $0 change fee 
  • Fare difference waived (please note that fare differences do still apply if you are changing your fare type, cabin or destination) 
  • If your new fare is lower, any remaining value will be refunded according to your fare rules, either to your original payment method or as Travel Bank credit 
  • Travel must be completed within 60 days of your original departure date 
  • Changes must be made more than 2 hours before your original scheduled departure 

 

Flight cancellations 
  • One-time $0 cancellation fee 
  • Refunds processed according to your fare rules, either to your original payment method or as Travel Bank credit 
  • UltraBasic fares will receive Travel Bank credit, valid for 12 months 
  • WestJet points, Travel Bank credits and companion vouchers will be returned to your account where applicable 
  • Cancellations must be made more than 2 hours before your original scheduled departure 

 

If you booked a vacation package 

If your booking was made through WestJet Vacations, Sunwing Vacations or Vacances WestJet Quebec, your vacation provider will be in touch directly with your options. If you have not heard from them, we recommend reaching out to them directly.
